Why Participate

A chance to contribute.

Clinical trial volunteers make every new medication possible. Whether you're managing a condition or you're a healthy adult who wants to help, your participation moves science forward.

Access new treatments

Trial participants are often the first to try therapies that may not be widely available for years, at no cost to you or your insurance.

Expert care, one-on-one

You'll work with a board-certified team of MDs, nurses, and coordinators who know your protocol inside and out, and treat you like family.

Move science forward

Every approved medication exists because volunteers like you stepped up. You'll be part of research that may help thousands of future patients.

Get compensated

Most studies pay you for your time, with additional compensation for meals and travel where applicable.

Frequently Asked

The most common questions, answered.

If you don't see your question here, feel free to call us or stop by our office. We're happy to walk you through anything.

Are clinical trials dangerous?

This is the question we hear most often. Clinical trials are heavily regulated by the FDA. Before any drug or treatment reaches a human subject, it goes through extensive safety testing in laboratory settings.

That said, every trial does carry some inherent risk, which depends on your medical history and the specific study. The key is informed consent: we will explain every known risk and side effect in detail, and unless you can demonstrate that you understand them, you will not be allowed to participate.

Can I stop participating at any time?

Yes. You are under no obligation to continue, and can exit a study at any time, for any reason. There's no penalty and it does not affect your ability to join future studies.

Do I need to be sick to participate?

Not at all. Every study is unique and eligibility is different for each one. Many of our trials seek healthy volunteers with no illness whatsoever.

When you apply, we'll match you to a study you're eligible for. If nothing currently fits, we'll add you to our alerts list and reach out when a good match opens up.

How many studies can I participate in at once?

Just one. This rule exists for your safety and to keep study results accurate. We will not enroll you if you are currently in another trial, or recently finished one.

How much will I be compensated?

It depends on the study. Compensation is generally based on the level of commitment required from you. Phase 1 studies, which typically include overnight stays, pay more than Phase 3 studies that may only require brief monthly visits.

Some studies also reimburse meals and/or travel expenses. We'll explain all compensation details up front during the consent process.

Will my health information stay private?

Yes. All your information is protected under HIPAA and the strict privacy rules that govern clinical research. Your name and personally identifying details are never shared with sponsors or in any published results.
